Bad Attitude or Civic Duty

Paul Graham has a fairly interesting article about the rebellious attitude of hackers, nerds and other intellectuals. He compares it to the same rebel nature of the country's founding fathers like Jefferson, who he quotes:

The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it always to be kept alive.

He states the hacker attitude of questioning authority, rebelling against standards and promoting radical thinking is part of the American society, it is part of what makes the country unique and strong and should be encouraged.Read on at http://paulgraham.com/gba.html
